Robert Aitken (June 19, 1917 – August 5, 2010)
Aitken Roshi died quietly August 5th in Honolulu of pneumonia. He had been with the Sangha on Sunday, and kept up his usual writing schedule that week, but said he was feeling weak. He entered the hospital in the morning and began intravenous antibiotics, but failed to rally. He was 93 years old.
Thich Nhat Hanh has offered incense TO THE BUDDHA for Roshi and has hand written these calligraphies for him and the Diamond Sangha.
